Roger I. Kung

 Mr.
Roger Kung has received wide renown for his leadership
ability and excellence in business mana-gement within the
global semi-conductor, computer, and comm-unication industries.
Mr. Kung started as a semicon-ductor memory designer
in 1976 then worked his way up, becoming VP of technical
staff with Motorola’s Semiconductor Sector in 1988.
He was promoted to VP and General Manager of the FSRAM
division in 1991. Mr. Kung was credited with leading
this global business unit in achieving rapid market
share improvement from worldwide #6 to #1 within three
years (1991-1994).
In 1995, Mr. Kung was transferred to Asia to head up
Motorola’s cellular phone business. Under his vision
and guidance, China became the dominant global manufacturing
center for the company, and cutting edge design, marketing,
SW, and wireless end to end solution centers were established
throughout Asia. During his tenure Mr. Kung led Motorola’s
cellular phone business to achieve #1 market share positions
in both the China and Taiwan markets and grew the business
from $200M to $4B annually. Retiring from the position
of President of Motorola Personal Communication Sector
in Asia, Mr. Kung founded E28 Limited at the end of
2002.
Mr. Kung has received many awards for his technical
achievements and business management performance including:
9 international patents in semiconductor components
and communication systems design, more than 30 technical
papers published, and various speaker roles for many
industry sponsored international conferences.

Mr. Kung graduated from National JiaoTung University,
Hsinchu, Taiwan with a B.S of Electronic Physics degree
in 1971 and M.S.E.E from Rutgers University, New Jersey,
USA in 1974. |
